SHOULDER PAIN

My name is Jorge Bustamonte. I have suffered from major low back pain since I was 18 years old.  My body has endured severe pounding because of my basketball career throughout high school & college.

One summer, I was working at the University of Miami and Dr. Furshman came to the school to check the kids for scoliosis. He was gracious enough to take the time to check my back to see if there was a problem.  He discovered that I was suffering from subluxations in my neck & back.  I had exhausted all my options up to this point.  Not a single medical doctor in the city of Miami could tell me what was wrong. They kept telling me to rest and take Tylenol & Advil but the pain persisted.

August 24th, 1997, was the day I decided to go see Dr. Furshman.  I was 21 years old and it hurt to sleep and there were days that I could not even walk.

I cannot put in words what Dr. Furshman has done for me.  He is the only doctor in the city of Miami that has shown that he really & truly cares about his patients.  His actions definitely speak louder than words.

I am now 26 years old and my 4-year anniversary as a patient of Dr. Furshman has just passed and I am happy to say that I do not suffer from pain when I am walking or when I am sleeping.  My spine no longer has subluxations in it that are preventing my body from healing itself.  I am back on the court again playing basketball and football, pain-free for the first time in years.

Dr. Furshman has improved not only my back but my overall quality of life.  Doctors throughout the United States should follow the example that Dr. Furshman has set with his patients.  And we as patients should feel lucky to have him.
